Anders als in früheren Piranha Bytes Titeln, kann man aber alles lernen, man ist durch seine Fraktionszugehörigkeit in keinster weise eingeschränkt. Die Rollenspielmechaniken haben sich dahingehend verändert, dass man nun Attributspunkte frei vergeben kann, ohne einen Lehrer aufsuchen zu müssen, was definitiv eine Willkommene Anpassung ist, für die einzelnen Skills, braucht man allerdings nach wie vor Lehrer. Diese sind mal mehr und mal weniger Umfrangreich oder spannend, bis auf wenige ausnahmen ist es nur: Geh da hin und töte X Viecher. Es gibt auch viele Nebenmissionen und die klassichen Gefährtenquests. Besonders die Charaktere der einzelnen Fraktion haben eine gewisse tiefe und viele alte Gesichter gibt es auch zu sehen. Die Storylines der Fraktionen sind alle samt sehr unterhaltsam, anders als die 6.
Ich würde dem ELEX 2 liebend gerne eine 9 von 10 geben, allerdings wäre das durch die technische Ausführung und die flache Hauptstory unangebracht.
